Boy critically injured in hit-run

A 5-year-old boy has been critically injured after being struck by a car in a hit-run incident in Springvale.

The driver of a dark-coloured sedan did not stop after hitting the child on Hope Street about 4pm on Thursday 26 September, police say.

A nearby resident found the boy on the road and he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The car, believed to be damaged on the passenger-side headlight area, was travelling eastwards.

Police are investigating.
