Matosevic’s ATP Eastbourne run halted

DANDENONG tennis star Marinko Matosevic scored an upset win over world No. 19 Richard Gasquet of France in the ATP Eastbourne grass court tennis tournament last week.

The world No. 72 beat Gasquet 1-6, 7-6, 7-6 in their round of 16 clash before losing 2-6, 6-7 to Belgium’s Steve Darcis in a rain-delayed quarter-final.

Matosevic will face another Belgian player, Xavier Malisse, at Wimbledon.

The match starts tonight Melbourne time.
