TRUCKIES have been warned to lock away their fuel cards after a spate of thefts from fleet vehicles and trucks in Dandenong South’s industrial area in the past month.
Greater Dandenong detectives said the cards had been stolen overnight from trucks — some left unlocked.
The cards were then used at unattended high-flow fuel stations to ‘purchase’ large quantities of fuel.
Detective Senior Constable Ben Vahland said businesses should ensure fuel cards were stored overnight in office safes, and trucks should be properly locked.
