Man sought over Endeavour Hills attack

AN elderly woman, who was viciously attacked with a sharp weapon in her Endeavour Hills home last month, has recovered enough to help police construct an image of her attacker.

Armed with the image (pictured), police manned two information caravans last Tuesday to encourage witnesses to come forward.

One caravan was outside the 73-year-old woman’s home in Georgette Crescent, where the attack occurred at 3.30pm on May 21. The other was near an automatic teller machine at the corner of Lonsdale and Clow streets, Dandenong, where the alleged offender tried to use the victim’s bank card to withdraw cash half an hour later.

The attacker was Caucasian, aged 30-40 and wore a high-visibility jacket.

Police want to speak to a man carrying a JB Hi-Fi bag who was trying to use the ATM when the alleged offender approached. The customer stepped aside and completed his transaction after the man left.
