Car crashes into home

A car crashed through a large brick wall and hit a Springvale South home, on Tuesday 2 May.
Emergency services were called to the Mackay Street property just after midday.
There were reports of smoke coming from the Volkswagen sedan.
An ambulance attended the scene but the driver, a 62-year-old woman, did not require treatment.
The airbag in her car deployed.
A building surveyor was called to assess the brick wall, which was deemed unstable following the crash.
A gas meter impacted in the incident was assessed and deemed safe.
