Christmas spirit feeds charity

GREATER Dandenong’s most isolated and disadvantaged people will be able to enjoy a Christmas Day lunch, but only with your help.
The ninth annual Christmas Day lunch will be held at Dandenong’s Youth Assist-Visy Cares centre.
Over the years, the lunch has provided thousands of people with a safe, warm and social environment.
But volunteers are still needed, according to the City of Greater Dandenong Council, which this week released a statement calling for more generous people to step forward and make the lunch a success.
Along with the volunteers, Youth Assist Board members and staff will help run the lunch.
Each week hundreds of young people and their families utilise the services at the Visy Cares centre in Dandenong.
Community or business members wanting to volunteer for two or three hours on Christmas Day are asked to contact Visy Cares on 9771 6620.
