DISABILITY awareness is what Greater Dandenong Council hopes to promote through a series of activities across the city.
The council is holding several events this month to celebrate the United Nations’ International Day of People with a Disability, which fell this year on Sunday 3 December.
This week at Dandenong Plaza, Grenda Bus Corporation displayed its new low-line buses to demonstrate how easy they are for people with disabilities to use.
The buses also featured the new MYKI ticketing system set to be rolled out across Victoria next year.
On Wednesday, The Castle played host to a day of free, fun activities available for anyone in Greater Dandenong.
The day featured the renowned band BiPolar Bears, the Wallara Band and a presentation and workshop with an African drum band.
Players from the Dandenong Rangers Wheelchair Basketball Team demonstrated their skills for onlookers.
Following the performances, festival goers enjoyed a free twilight barbecue.
