Disability ride in Fiji

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

FEDERAL Member for Bruce, Alan Griffin MP, is set to complete a 550km ride around the main island of Fiji in support of people with a disability.
The initiative known as CyclePower is in its third year and aims to support those living with a disability in Fiji.
Participants will ride around the island and donate adaptive sporting equipment to the villages of people with a disability.
Mr Griffin said CyclePower was a fantastic initiative that thoroughly benefited the disabled community.
“As we have heard in much of the discussion surrounding the introduction of Disability Care, it is hugely important that as a community we work to improve the opportunities available to people with disability and enable them to live full and active lives,” Mr Griffin said.
“By doing this, we also greatly improve the health outcomes of people with disability.”
CyclePower is one of Disability Sport and Recreation’s many initiatives to support people with a disability in Victoria, while previous rides have been completed in Vietnam and Cambodia.
