Back to normal on Monash Freeway after crash

TRAFFIC conditions have been declared ‘‘back to normal’’ on EastLink after a two-truck crash on its Monash Freeway off-ramp.

Spokesman Peter De Luca said one of the off-ramp lanes has been opened, and speed limits on the motorway were restored to 100 km/h.

Traffic queues had banked back to Ferntree Gully Road, with delays of up to 10 minutes, he said.

Earlier a driver was trapped in his cabin after the two trucks crashed on the off-ramp about 7am this morning.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman Paul Bentley said the driver was freed and taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries.
