Dandenong sinks Cerberus

By Glen Atwell
DANDENONG has bumped Doveton from the Southern Football League Division Three top four after beating the lowly Cerberus at the HMAS base on Saturday.
The Demons beat the inconsistent Navy boys by 29 points, despite trailing early in the game.
At quarter-time Dandenong was down by two goals, but a four-goal-to-one second quarter resurrected the Demons’ chances and the away side escaped Cerberus with an important win.
Best for Dandenong was David Black, who booted six goals and helped swing winning momentum the Demons way during the second term.
Rodney Benstead and Shane Mleczek also starred for Dandenong that travels to South Yarra on Saturday.
Black Rock v Doveton
BLACK Rock continued to roll towards the Division Three finals after crushing the Doveton Eagles at McDonald Reserve on Saturday by 62 points.
The Rock led at every change and Doveton could barely muster a challenge its opposition had almost double the number of scoring shots.
The heavy defeat sent Doveton packing from the top four, as Dandenong’s win against Cerberus was enough to edge the Demons into fourth spot.
Best for Doveton on Saturday was Steven Ognjenovic, who booted three goals.
This Saturday the Eagles travel to Mount Waverley that is full of confidence after belting the Sandown Cobras by 35 points.
Clint Sheedy booted four goals for the Cobras, who this weekend face Cerberus at HMAS Cerberus.
