THE Heatherton Road Flyover opened last weekend as one of the first signs that the EastLink tollway is at the end stage of its construction. The flyover elevates Heatherton Road from its old ground level intersection with the Princes Highway in Dandenong, to tower above both the highway and new tollway.
However, drivers will no longer be allowed access to the Princes Highway from Heatherton Road until the State Government builds a small, linking road, as revealed by Star last year, that is set to open in 2009.
