TWO drivers tried to bolt from booze buses in Greater Dandenong in the space of a week.
Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol Sergeant Jeff Stockdale said the first runaway was at an Operation Invincible breath test in Corrigan Road, Keysborough, on 12 January.
A driver approaching the roadblock performed a U-turn and fled through back streets with police in pursuit.
A Keysborough man, 26, dumped his car, leaving his keys inside and ran into Parkmore Shopping Centre.
Sgt Stockdale said he’s expected to be charged on summons with driving while suspended, refusing a preliminary breath test, evading police and making a false report.
The second incident was on South Gippsland Highway, Dandenong South, on 19 January.
Acting Sergeant James Savin said a driver stopped short of the roadblock, pulled his car over behind trees and walked into bushes.
An officer found the elderly man, who blew .123, received a penalty notice and lost his licence.
