Elderly woman fights off home intruder

AN 86-YEAR-OLD Dandenong woman has punched a burglar in the head, sending him fleeing.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detection Senior Constable Bree Jarvis said a man removed glass louvers from a toilet window and entered the Jones Road home about 3am on Saturday 14 November.
He made his way into the lounge area, turned on a light, sat on the couch and went through the top drawer of a buffet.
The resident woke up, went into the lounge, found the man and punched him in the back of the head.
Det Sen Const Jarvis said this caused the burglar to panic and flee.
