Eagles rebound to bury Burra

KEYSBOROUGH’S meek conclusion to the Casey Cardinia league season continued when it lost to Cranbourne by 131 points at Rowley Allen Reserve on Saturday.
The Eagles rebounded from a disappointing round-17 loss to Devon Meadows with a clinical display.
They kicked nine goals to two in the opening term and kicked 15 goals to two in the next three, to run away big winners.
Cranbourne’s 42 shots on goal to Keysborough’s 11 highlighted the dominance of the Eagles.
The Burra had few answers for the rampaging forward line of Marc Holt (nine goals), Justin Berry (five) and Ray George (four).
Will Gayfer was Keysborough’s best player. He has been consistently brilliant in defence. He was determined in defence and repelled many attacks.
The improving Jordan Laragy, veterans Travis Skidmore, Ryan Goodes and Michael Downie and Damien Wilsnach provided some resistance for Keysborough.
After a bright start to the year, injuries cruelled the Burra and they spiralled down to finish eighth on the ladder.
