A DANDENONG police officer has been charged by the Ethical Standards Department.
Senior Sergeant Antony Cranswick, head of Dandenong and Frankston Police Prosecutions Division, was charged after it is alleged police material was given to defence lawyers.
He was charged along with Superintendent Kerry Stephens, formerly Victoria’s top police prosecutor with ‘being a member of police communicating any fact or document’.
Both men are on leave from the force and were charged on summons.
They are due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in January.
