NOBLE PARK’S Paddy O’Donoghue Centre celebrates its first birthday this week with a variety of fun activities for the community.
The biggest of those activities will be Cancer Council fundraiser, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, held tomorrow (Friday) at 10.30am at the Buckley Street facility.
For a gold coin donation residents can enjoy entertainment by a variety of user groups from the centre and sample culinary delights prepared by the University of the Third Age Cooking Group, and students from LINK Employment.
More than 38,000 people have embraced the state-of-the-art centre since its opening, with 36 regular user groups now utilising the facilities.
Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea was delighted with the centre’s popularity in only its first year.
“The centre provides not only childcare, maternal and child health services, preschool and a senior citizens centre but also a range of recreation activities such as gymnastics, dance and singing classes, aerobics and karate for the young, and the young at heart,” he said.
