Extra bus services

By Shaun Inguanzo
SEVERAL Greater Dandenong bus routes will begin operating during evenings and on Sundays from early 2007.
Mulgrave MP Daniel Andrews and Dandenong MP John Pandazopoulos announced the services last week and said several routes would operate until at least 9pm on weekdays, and begin operating on Sundays.
Routes affecting Greater Dandenong include the 850 Dandenong to Glen Waverley, 862 Dandenong to Chadstone, 811 Dandenong to Brighton, 812 Dandenong to Brighton, 813 Dandenong to Waverley Gardens, and 631 Waverley Gardens to Southland.
They will operate from 6am to 9pm on weekdays, 8am to 9pm on Saturdays and public holidays, and 9am to 9pm on Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday.
“These extra services are a significant boost for people living in Dandenong, Noble Park, Keysborough, and Mulgrave, particularly those who rely on these buses to get to local shops on a weekend or to the metropolitan rail network,” Mr Andrews said.
“It’s also great news for people unable to rely on cars as well as those looking for a viable alternative to driving at a time of high petrol prices.”
