Centre one year on

NEXT month marks the first anniversary of the opening of Noble Park’s Paddy O’Donoghue centre, and members of the community are invited to celebrate in style on Friday, 18 May.
From 10.30am to noon in the Main Hall patrons can enjoy entertainment and light refreshments, sample culinary delights prepared by the University of the Third Age’s cooking group, and learn more about the centre’s programs.
The fanfare also coincides with the centre’s fundraiser for the Cancer Council Australia, titled Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Residents are asked to make a gold coin donation to the cause.
Since opening last year, more than 38,000 people and 36 community groups have regularly embraced the state-of-the-art facilities.
Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said he was delighted the centre had become a valuable and essential asset to daily life in Noble Park.
