A BABY was left with serious head and limb injuries in the Monash Medical Centre’s intensive care unit after an incident in Dandenong last week.
Police are calling for information from the public as they investigate the matter in which the 21-month-old baby suffered bleeding on the brain, fractured arms and possible cigarette burns.
Detective Senior Constable Larry Grimshaw said the incident happened on the evening of 7 November in Dandenong.
The baby was rushed to the Monash Medical Centre where it is still in intensive care.
Police at Cranbourne Crime Investigation Unit later charged a man with serious assault.
He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 19 January.
