Autumn rhythms rule

MUSICAL fun for the whole family is coming to Noble Park and Springvale this April thanks to the City of Greater Dandenong.
The council is holding two free family concerts in public parks to herald the arrival of autumn.
The first is at Copas Reserve, Noble Park, and kicks off at noon on 9 April.
The second at Burden Park, Springvale, and begins at noon on 15 April.
Entry to both concerts is free.
Blues and swing-rock’n’roll band The Jump Devils will begin the day’s entertainment at Copas Reserve in a prelude to the funky sounds of the Jake Mason Hammond Combo.
The opening act at Burden Park will be the Society Syncopaters, newly returned from a European tour to showcase their blend of traditional jazz.
A seven-piece jazz group, The Steve Sedergreen Ensemble, will spice up the afternoon with their Latin and rock’n’roll touches.
Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said autumn was a delightful time to be outside enjoying the beautiful sounds and colours of mother nature.
“Why not take the family along to enjoy a fun day of free entertainment while soaking up the atmosphere at two of our beautiful reserves?
“Our city has an abundance of parkland and I hope residents go along and enjoy what Greater Dandenong has to offer,” Cr Chea said.
Copas Reserve is located at the corner of Buckley and Noble streets, Noble Park (Melway reference 89 E2).
