SPRINGVALE Police have charged a former Springvale resident with more than 50 counts relating to fraud and deception following an investigation into $3 million worth of fake loan applications.
Springvale detectives arrested a woman in her 40s at a Cranbourne residence on Tuesday.
The woman, who was originally from Springvale, was remanded in custody to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
The Star did not have details of the bail hearing before deadline, but Springvale Sergeant Geoff Straughen said the woman was charged with 50 counts relating to theft, making false documents and obtaining property by deception.
Springvale detectives have been investigating $3 million of false bank and home loan applications made across Springvale and surrounding areas over the past several years.
