PRIMARY schools in Springvale and Noble Park are calling for volunteers to help with their breakfast club programs.
The joint Red Cross and Sanitarium initiative is run at schools between 8am and 9am to provide children with a nutritious start to the day, while also educating them about healthy eating habits.
Students who take part in the Good Start Breakfast Clubs are provided with cereal, fruit, juice, toast and yoghurt.
Participating schools that require community support include Springvale primary and Springvale English Language School, Springvale South primary, Southvale primary, Heatherhill primary and Noble Park English Language School.
Good Start Breakfast Club coordinator Kylie Mackay said assistance could come in the form of food donations, financial donations to help provide food and materials for the breakfast clubs, or volunteering some time to cater during the breakfasts.
