It’s all about the service

By Lia Bichel
INTERNATIONAL cuisine, a stylish interior, and a dedicated and experienced staff have earned Dandenong Pavillion this year’s Service Excellence Award.
Dandenong Pavillion owned by Dani Zeini and business partner Steven Metter, has been trading for two years and six months, and in that time has attracted people from all over the state.
“I was born and raised in Dandenong and have been in hospitality all my life,” Mr Zeini said. “I was looking for different business opportunities and when I walked through the building’s doors, I had a strong gut feeling. I knew this place was for me.”
Mr Zeini said it was difficult to obtain finances, but once he overcame that hurdle, he hired a “top notch” architect and interior design team, renovated the business, and opened the restaurant with a brand new look. Recently, the wine bar was revamped and furniture was imported from overseas.
About 20 experienced staff serve up dishes from four chefs at the restaurant. Favourites include local Gippsland beef, to Asian, Mediterranean, and Indian cuisine.
“We are very particular about our food quality, our venue, and our service. We don’t skimp on anything. We have very high standards.” Mr Zeini said.
“I am also very proud of the staff. Most of them have been here for two years. We all pay close attention to detail and maintain our level of care and service for every customer.”
Mr Zeini said he did not have specific future plans for the restaurant but hoped it would continue to succeed.
“I look forward to seeing how the restaurant holds up against the growing competition in Dandenong.”
