POLICE are searching for two men believed to be using fake cards to steal money from people’s bank accounts.
Police believe that three men travelled from the Sydney area before using the cards at two ATMs in Melbourne’s CBD on Sunday 17 January 2010.
The men moved across Melbourne from 17 January to early February, striking ATMs in Springvale, Keysborough, Southland, Carnegie and Toorak, before returning to the CBD.
The trio are believed to be responsible for the theft of a number of Eftpos card reading devices from stores throughout the Melbourne area. Police have spoken to one man in relation to this incident.
