Seeking feedback

GREATER Dandenong residents are invited to speak their mind on the future of the city.
The City of Greater Dandenong recently released the draft 2010-2013 Community Wellbeing Plan and mayor Jim Memeti said residents could have a look through it and offer feedback until 12 August.
“The Community Wellbeing Plan is a plan for the whole city,” Cr Memeti said.
“It is important for residents to look through the draft plan and give feedback on any of the key areas covered.
“Good health and wellbeing is about living to the full, rather than just the absence of illness.
“The council makes a direct contribution to this by planning neighbourhoods and parks, identifying transport needs and deciding where to put community facilities.”
The draft plan outlines seven broad priorities which support planning for total health and wellbeing.
“This plan is designed to take all of these things into account and influence service provision across the city.
“It aims to increase opportunities for health and wellbeing for the community as a whole.”
Consultation has taken place with a range of stakeholders, specialist agencies and members of the community to ensure the plan focuses on physical, mental and social wellbeing, not just the absence of disease.
Copies of the Community Wellbeing Plan, feedback form and summary sheet are available from www.greaterdandenong. com or contact the council on 9239 5100.
Residents can access a copy of the plan from the council’s Customer Service centres or from the Dandenong and Springvale libraries.
