DARI speaking students participated in a special event at Dandenong West Primary School last week.
On 7 September, students and their parents read different books in Dari, which is one of the two main languages spoken in Afghanistan.
The Language Day story telling event was one of many the school is holding throughout the year to give students an opportunity to learn about different cultures, Grade 6 teacher Rebecca Williams said.
“We have a very multicultural school, with about 300 students,” she said.
“They have different culture storybook telling, which gives students an opportunity to share their cultures.”
Ms Williams said the Dandenong West Primary School will host more language day events to promote multiculturalism at the school.
