STUDENTS at James Cook Primary School are shooting for the stars during free basketball clinics.
Dandenong Rangers players Abby Bishop and Chantella Perera have been working with Year 3 and 4 students as part of the free clinics offered through the Jayco Shoot for the Stars program at Dandenong Basketball Stadium.
For four weeks, Abby and Chantella taught students basketball skills, including dribbling, passing and goal shooting.
“Students have been very excited about the program and the amount of basketball being played in the yard at lunchtime has definitely increased,” principal Kathy Sharp said. “What a fantastic experience for all the students to learn from professional players.”
Anyone wanting more information about James Cook Primary School can contact the school on 9700 2601.
