Noble notch

NOBLE Park has notched up another win after comfortably dissecting Werribee by seven wickets at Chirnside Park on Saturday.
After Noble Park won the toss and sent Werribee in to bat, the home side looked in control at 3-71, but some sharp bowling by Marasinghe Perera triggered a middle order collapse.
Werribee lost 4-15 during this period and never recovered, stumbling to 123 all out. Perera removed four of the top six batsmen and had outstanding figures of 4/14 (9).
He was well supported by Rizan Mawzoon 3/26(8). Noble’s top order got off to a shaky start losing 2/16, but a century stand between Peter Harper (67) and Dean Edmunds (32*not out) made sure the result was never in doubt.
Harper fell seven runs short of the runs required but his knock came off 60 balls as he scored his second half century from four games.
Edmunds remained not out and played yet another patient knock – his score coming from 50 balls.
Noble Park reached the score with more than 20 overs remaining in their innings.
Edmunds is yet to be dismissed this year and boasts not out scores of 86, 69, 46 and 32.
Round seven will see fourth-placed Noble Park take on Sunshine (13th) at Pat Wright Snr Oval.
