Old boy gives club a leg-up

NOBLE Park Football Club had a famous alumnus return to help chip in on Saturday – with Essendon premiership player Adam Ramanauskas returning to donate a bag of footballs.
Ramanauskas, a former Noble Park junior footballer, was at Moodemere Street on Saturday to donate the footballs as part of FOX FOOTY’s Club Rewards program.
The number 12 draft pick from the 1998 AFL Draft, picked from the Dandenong Stingrays Football Club, said it was important to help get the club a leg-up in any way possible – with the cost of new equipment steadily rising – and the contributions through the Club Rewards program will be a boon for local clubs.
“It’s paramount I think to any of the local football clubs to make sure their equipment is all as new as it possibly can be,” Ramanauskas said.
“You see the training nights, having good footballs or new medical equipment is extremely important based on the cost of it – that’s the sad thing about it – so if the club can get stuff like that for free it’s a great help to them.”
Ramanauskas still has fond memories of his time at the club and loves the culture and energy around the Bulls year after year.
“I played here as a junior, so I think it was more the people around Noble Park Football Club that I remember most,” he said.
“You still see so many familiar faces and always feel so welcome here.
“What I love about it is they are such a strong club, they respect their history so much, but they also are pressing for a fantastic future.”
Clubs can register for the FOX Footy Club Rewards program at http://www.foxfootyclubrewards.com.au/rewards.
