VSDCA East/West 1st XI – round 12 (week two)
HARD yards were run by Marasinghe Perera (64) and Johan Vorster (56) to guide Noble Park (9/234) to victory over Croydon (8/233).
The Bulls’ charge was led by Perera and Vorster through the middle overs – adding 96 for the third wicket partnership before both fell in succession. It left Mevan Fernando (35) and the tail to wag their way through another 80 runs. With help from Dirk Vandergert (18) and crucial runs from number 11 Anthony Salomon (11 not out), the Bulls snuck past the Croydon total in the 65th over. The win consolidates Noble Park’s fourth place position on the VSDCA ladder and secured its spot in the finals with two rounds to go.
Noble Park heads to Melton this round for its last two-dayer.
