Victorian Premier Cricket – round 18 (week one)

SINKING their teeth into the Magpies, the Panthers roared to 5/303 at stumps on day one.
From the top the pain was doled out by the Dandenong opening duo Brett Forsyth (125) and Tom Donnell (84). The pair made sure Camberwell would have to toil next week to stand any chance of making the finals as they piled on 159 for the first wicket.
Donnell would fall 16-short of a well-deserved ton, but Forsyth avenged his partner’s departure with his eighth Victorian Premier Cricket first grade century.
Forysth had his younger brother Cameron (48 not out) at the crease when he reached the milestone, before the older Forsyth hit one off Jack McNamara (1/52) straight to Glen Parker.
Cameron continued what Brett started as he raced towards his half-century by stumps.
Dandenong will need losses from both Fitzroy-Doncaster, who is 0/9 chasing 256 against Melbourne, and Prahran, chasing 329 against Northcote, to advance into the last finals spot on offer.
