GREATER Dandenong CIU is appealing for witnesses after a man broke into a Springvale South home early yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
A 33-year-old woman and her son, 17, were asleep in their Melview Drive home when the burglary occurred about 2am.
The mother saw a man in the hallway when she woke to go to the bathroom.
He grabbed a backpack full of clothes from the floor and ran out the front door.
Investigators believe he cut a hole in flyscreen on the kitchen window to enter the home.
He’s believed to be Caucasian, about 182 centimetres tall, aged between 30 and 40 with a thin build, shaved head and longish stubble, and was wearing a checked shirt and dark pants.
Police urged anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Melview Drive area to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
