Harmony on the menu

By MIKE TZOUNIS

MEMBERS of the Dandenong Muslim community attended the Eid-ul-Fitr dinner organised by Ahmadiyya Muslim Association (AMA) Victoria at Langwarrin on 16 August.
The evening also featured an announcement that the supreme head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, would be visiting Australia in October.
Mr Ahmad is based in the UK and promotes peace and inter-religious harmony.
City of Greater Dandenong councillor Roz Blades was among the event’s guests.
AMA president Javed Safdar Choudhary presented her with a shield as a token of acknowledgement of her contributions to the municipality.
“Following the traditions of other chapters, Ahmadiyya Community in Victoria has been on the front foot for promoting the message of peace, harmony, loyalty and tolerance through the active participation on Victorian and national levels,” Mr Choudhary said.
