THREE men forced their way into a Noble Park home and stole a dog, a car and a phone.
A 36-year-old man answered a knock on the front door at his Joffre Street home about 5.45am on Sunday 24 November.
A trio entered and assaulted the victim with blunt weapons, ransacked the house and rear shed, and stole a Ford XR6 sedan, a Staffordshire bull terrier and a mobile phone.
An ambulance took the victim to Dandenong Hospital with head, facial and leg injuries, defensive wounds to his arms and a suspected broken collarbone.
The attackers are all described as Caucasian with a large build.
One had a fair-coloured crew cut and another had longer brown hair.
“It’s a nasty assault,” Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said.
“At this stage there appears to be no motivation for the assault.
“We’re still waiting until we can talk to the victim.”
