PULL up a stool and play a tune in Dandenong this week.
Public art installation Play Me I’m Yours is taking centre stage at Palm Plaza until 27 January.
British artist Luke Jerram created the concept which has previously graced footpaths from Paris to Barcelona.
The Dandenong piano is one of 20 street pianos dotted across Melbourne throughout January.
Arts Centre Melbourne, which is co-ordinating the project, has used pre-loved and unused pianos.
The council’s arts and cultural development co-ordinator Sarah Dugdale said local artists had been engaged to decorate the piano.
“This project is designed to encourage community connection and spontaneous moments of creativity,” she said.
“You don’t have to be a musician to take part.
“The piano is there for everyone to play.”
