POLICE are urging three men to give themselves up after a fatal shooting in Keysborough overnight.
The Homicide Squad detective who is leading the investigation said that two men arrived at the Bloomfield Road address about 4pm yesterday afternoon.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Sheahan told media gathered outside the home that the victim left from the front of the house with another man and then collapsed on the street where he died from the single gunshot wound.
That man, who is thought to be the home’s occupant, then ran off.
Sgt Sheahan said the other two men jumped the property’s back fence to make their escape.
“My understanding, at this point of time, is that all parties are known to each other and it doesn’t appear to be a random attack,” he said.

TWO male suspects are still at large after a fatal shooting in Keysborough yesterday evening.
A 34-year-old man died in hospital last night after being found by a passing motorist lying on Bloomfield Road about 5.45pm with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Before the shooting, the victim was believed to have visited a Bloomfield Road home – just metres from where he was found.
Homicide detectives believe that two other men arrived at the address in a white Jeep 4WD about 4pm.
At 5.35pm, the victim and the home’s occupant came out of the home’s front door and the victim then collapsed onto the road.
The occupant, who police say may have also been a target of the attack, is believed to have fled south on Bloomfield Road towards Kingsclere Avenue.
The two other men are believed to have fled on foot via the rear of the home and through Frederick Wachter Reserve.
The Jeep, which is not listed as stolen, has been seized by police and towed away for forensic analysis.
The home in question, like many other homes in the road, has shutter windows.
A neighbour, who didn’t wish to be named, said the “nice, easy going” occupant moved into the home several months ago, but that she didn’t know him well.
She was among several neighbours who said she did not hear the shooting.
“I was just watching TV at the time, I heard nothing.”
Homicide detectives are reviewing CCTV footage of the scene in the hope of releasing descriptions of the men involved.
Police have concerns for the occupant’s safety and have appealed for him – as well as the other two men – to come forward.
