165km/h on drugs, police claim

POLICE allege a drug-affected motorcyclist was travelling at 165km/h in a 100 zone in Bangholme last night (Thursday).
State Highway Patrol East members detected the white Triumph motorcycle travelling southbound along EastLink near Thompsons Road just after 7pm on Thursday 25 June.
They intercepted the 37-year-old Vermont man and allege he tested positive for drugs.
Officers immediately impounded the bike and expect to charge the rider on summons with driving at a dangerous speed and other speed-related offences.
They will also charge him with drug driving, if additional samples confirm the initial positive reading.
