Drunk slumped over wheel

POLICE allegedly found a serial drink driver slumped over his wheel in a Dandenong carpark with a .219 blood alcohol reading.
Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol Senior Sergeant Scott Roberts said officers received a call to Bunnings on the corner of Gladstone Road and Princes Highway in the early hours of Thursday 18 June.
He said the Glen Waverley man, 29, tried to drive away when police approached but they intercepted him.
Sen Sgt Roberts said the driver returned a blood alcohol concentration reading of .219 – his fourth drink driving offence and his third high-range reading in less than five years.
“This sort of stuff is just outrageous,” Sen Sgt Roberts said.
Police charged the driver with drink driving and impounded his vehicle.
He was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court.
