POLICE are on the hunt for an excavator and trailer which were stolen from a Dandenong South business overnight on Wednesday.
They were stolen from the Commercial Drive equipment dealership between 5.30pm on Wednesday 22 July and 6.45am the next day.
The padlocks on the front gates of the facility had been cut.
It’s believed the offenders hooked the yellow aluminium Auswide Plant Trailer to the orange 2013 Komatsu excavator and drove off.
Detectives are looking into reports that the excavator and trailer may have been seen in the Macclesfield area since Wednesday.
Police have also released an image of a similar excavator in the hope someone will identify the stolen vehicle.
The serial number of the excavator is 22052 and the serial number for the trailer is V45821.
