POLICE are hunting a man who tried to grab a teenage girl on a morning walk through Dandenong.
Detectives said the 14-year-old was heading into the John Hemmings Memorial Park Reserve from Close Avenue between 8.20am and 8.40am on Thursday, 23 July when a man tried to grab her from behind.
She ran but he gave chase and again tried to apprehend her. She hit him with her schoolbag and fled the scene.
The man was last seen leaving the reserve onto Close Avenue.
He’s described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid-thirties to forties, 173 centimetres tall with a medium build.
He was wearing a white zip-up jacket and black jeans.
Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are investigating and have released an image of a man and CCTV that might assist with their inquiries.
