SHARING a personal connection with the Very Special Kids Foundation (VSKF), Haileybury’s Keysborough Campus has raised more than $2000 for The Piggy Bank Appeal.
Piling their pennies for children with life-threatening conditions, Haileybury’s junior school students racked up $1200 over two days of fund-raising.
Running a number of initiatives throughout the month of September Haileybury’s middle school students managed to raise $1000 in one week.
With the funds raised going towards providing sick children with hospice and family support services, Haileybury students chose the Piggy Bank Appeal due to their fellow student’s brother, Darcy Hanssen.
Under the VSKF care since he was born, Darcy’s two younger siblings attend Haileybury and with the help of the school the Hanssen family has been able to give back to the foundation that has done so much for them.
The Hanssen family along with student leaders presented the cheque of $2215.80 to a representative from the VSKF.
