AN 18-year-old Dandenong woman was killed after she lost control of her car and hit a tree in Dandenong overnight.
Police believe the car was heading east along Cheltenham Road about 9pm on Thursday 25 February when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver died at the scene while her two passengers, a 19-year-old woman from Dandenong South and a 20-year-old woman from Cranbourne North, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The death brings the 2016 road toll up to 48, seven more than this time last year.
