Good brekkie start for success

FEEDING success is as simple as serving up breakfast.
Dandenong Salvation Army and St Mary’s Primary School in Dandenong are calling for volunteers to join a new school breakfast program from next term.
Dandenong corps officer Captain Stuart McGifford said one in seven kids started the school day without a proper breakfast.
“That’s far too many and, as most people know, kids do better on a full stomach,” he said.
“A healthy breakfast is simply the best way to start the day.”
Captain McGifford said that Foodbank Victoria had found breakfast clubs improved academic achievement, classroom behaviour and truancy rates.
He said the St Mary’s program would be a community space where kids were valued and encouraged as their school day started.
Call the school a call on 9791 7650 and leave your name with reception to get involved.
