Sea of orange for SES

HEAD out in orange on Wednesday 11 May to show support for Greater Dandenong SES.
The Wear Orange Wednesday, or WOW, initiative is part of National Volunteer week.
Students and teachers can wear something orange and make a gold coin donation on the day to thank local State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers for their efforts.
Greater Dandenong acting controller Shane Bolton said money raised in the municipality would go towards replacing the unit’s 11-year-old four-wheel drive.
“After the event, we will do a thank you visit to each school that participates,” he said.
“We will visit in uniform with one of our operational trucks.”
Greater Dandenong SES has been serving the local community for more than 25 years.
SES is the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami and earthquake.
