Noble Park’s Nina Springle is the Victorian Greens’ new deputy leader.
The party appointed the South East Metropolitan MP on Tuesday 17 October in the wake of former leader Greg Barber’s resignation.
Samantha Ratnam took over the Victorian leadership.
At the last state election, Ms Springle became the first Green MP elected to the South Eastern Metropolitan Region.
“The Greens have the strongest plans for Victorians, whether they live in the inner-city, suburbs or country,” she said.
“I love living in Noble Park but the liveability of the area is under threat from traffic and inappropriate development.
“The South-East is home to some of the city’s most beautiful natural environments – from our beaches to our parks – and it’s vital that protecting these are at the heart of everything we do.
“The population in the South-East is growing year on year and we need to be planning ahead on issues like local employment, access to schools and childcare, and affordable housing.”
Green is go for Springle
