Three charged over alleged armed carjacking

Three people have been charged over an alleged aggravated car jacking in Springvale on 30 May.

Police say a woman had her car taken from her at knifepoint on Lawn Road.

The car is believed to have been used for several petrol drive-offs and stealing vehicles in suburbs including Patterson Lakes, Keysborough and Noble Park between 30 May-5 June.

On 6 June, a 19-year-old man was arrested after a short foot pursuit by detectives during a police raid of a house at Station Creek Way, Botanic Ridge.

He was charged with aggravated carjacking, aggravated burglary and other related offences.

Police say the charges relate to an aggravated burglary on Patterson Drive, Lynbrook on 1 June and an attempted aggravated carjacking on Aylmar Road, Lyndhurst on 2 June.

He was also allegedly linked to a burglary and attempted aggravated burglary on Lyndhurst Boulevard, Lyndhurst on 2 June.

The man was expected to face an out-of-sessions court hearing t at Dandenong Police Station on 6 June.

A 19-year-old Narre Warren man was charged with car theft, theft from a motor vehicle, theft, handling proceeds of crime and committing an indictable offence on bail.

He was set to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 6 June.

Police also charged a 17-year-old Keysborough girl with car theft and driving offences.

She was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
