About 6pm the 19-year-old was approached by two unknown males outside the Commonwealth Bank branch on Springvale Road.

One of the males requested to use the victim’s phone, Greater Dandenong CIU police say.

As the victim pulled out his phone, the male snatched it from his hand.

The victim tried to grab it back and was punched to his left cheek.

He suffered no visible injuries.

The two robbers ran away with the victim’s phone.
