Police investigate robbery stabbing

A man has been hospitalised after being allegedly stabbed and robbed in Pickett Street Dandenong.

The 38-year-old Dandenong man was treated by paramedics for stab wounds to his leg about 12.20am on Thursday 22 August.

Police say they were told an unknown offender assaulted the victim and stole his bag.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Police spoke to a man at the scene about 1.40am. He was released shortly afterwards, pending further enquiries, the spokesperson said.

The victim was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition.
