A DRIVER was taken to hospital after his cement mixer tipped on its side in Dandenong South last week.
The truck tipped as it turned right from Frankston-Dandenong Road into Swift Way about 1.40pm on Thursday.
CFA crews contained spillage from a ruptured diesel tank underneath the truck.
Acting Sergeant Chris Tetof of Dandenong highway patrol said the cause of the crash was still being investigated but there was no indication that speed was a factor.
He said it was unknown how much cement the truck was carrying.
‘‘It may be that the load has shifted as the truck has come around the corner.’’
Police diverted northbound traffic on Frankston-Dandenong Road around the truck, which was later lifted upright by two cranes and pulled away by a tow truck.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition.
