Girls gun for third title

HALLAM Senior College girls’ cricket side will contest the Victorian state final for the third consecutive year.

Having won the past two titles, Hallam is looking to go for the hat-trick when the final is played in term 4.

En route to the final, Hallam defeated Lakeside by six wickets, MacRobertson girls’ school by 130 runs, Rosebud by 110 runs and Healesville by 80 runs.

Rachel Hunt led the way in batting with scores of 43, 48, 15 and 16 not out while Chloe McMillan had hands of 80 and 31. Both players also took several wickets. Cherie Tamanalevu had a hat-trick in one of the matches.

Hallam Senior College girls’ football side also kicks off its season next month with a Casey North division round robin on May 18. Hallam has a 28-player squad.
